Whenever I travel I always look forward to visiting the spa. There is nothing more than a message to send a long travel day. I was spoiled when staying at the Barcelo and ended up enjoying 3 spa days.
Day One at the Barcelo Spa
There is nothing worse than spending a few days in the Caribbean without a fresh pedicure. When I arrived at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort I knew I needed to head to the spa for a quick pedicure before I hit the beach. I called the spa and was happy to find out that they were offering 25% off and an additional 10% off for premium club members. To make it better if you book a spa service within the first 24 hours you get buy 1 get 1 free deal.
Barcelo spa 5 (1 of 1)The spa at Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort offers two different kinds of pedicures. One is just a traditional pedicure and the other is a spa pedicure. Due to booking at the last minute, the spa was only able to squeeze me into the traditional pedicure and it was heavenly!
Barcelo spa 7 (1 of 1)Barcelo spa 4 (1 of 1)She soaked my feet as normal, exfoliated them, and polished my toes. My feet were beach ready. It took about 40 minutes from start to finish.
AmLactin Skin Care 1 (1 of 1)Since I was a premium club member at Barcelo I was also given 45 minutes of Hydrotherapy each day. I took advantage of each day also. They have a dry sauna, Turkish bath, Vicky showers, hot and cold tub pools, and a huge pool with waterfalls and jets outside in the sun. This away my favorite perk of the premium club.
Day Two at the Barcelo Spa
After this post, you are going to realize I love going to the spa. Today was a busy day and what is better than ending the day by getting a message. Today I was given a foot ritual continuing with a massage combining the best of five different massage techniques (relaxing, muscular, reflexology, Lomi-Lomi, and aromatherapy). OMG, this was the best 90 minutes of the whole trip! My massage starts with me laying on my back working my feet which were extremely tired, to begin with. Then moving up my body until I flipped over.
Barcelo spa 3 (1 of 1)And you know it after my massage I had to enjoy the hydrotherapy. I soaked in the hot pool and take a Vicky shower. Have you ever had a Vicky shower?
Day Three at the Barcelo Spa
Guess what I made it back to the spa today. Today was for a facial which was really since my face was dried out from the sun. First, she did a small exfoliating scrub. Since I was spending the next few days out the day I had her so it was very light since I didn’t want to burn. She then applied an aloe facial mask followed by a great moisturizer. My face was so smooth as a baby’s bottom. I made sure to put on lots of sunscreens to make sure I didn’t burn since I was going to be in the sun.
Barcelo spa 2 (1 of 1)As you can guess after my facial I utilized hydrotherapy. I started with the Turkish bath ending with the dry sauna. It was the perfect way to start my day.
